Thanks to you ...?[Hlela umthombo]

Do we few editors of the ZU WP have you to thank, @Matiia: for taking care of removing some 800 sketchy page creations here earlier today (30 March)? Each page consisted of a number, the isiZulu word "inombolo" (number), and put in one new category Category:Izinombolo. Besides having virtually no content, they are essentially irrelevant to this struggling small WP which I work on daily in an attempt to clean up red links, add wanted categories, etc. By the time I got back on line in the evening, all that activity was gone without a trace (?) - only I saw your user name among the "Active Members" of the project with a large number of actions in the ZU WP "in the last 30 days" but no details. Also the WP Projects by number of articles as displayed at the bottom of the Main Page here shows ZU WP with 889 content pages (consistent with actual pages in re, but when accessed from the EN WP Main Page, shows 1,607 content articles (nearly double the number of actual pages). I didn't see any of these "number" pages added in Wikidata. Are we "on the same page" here? -- Cheers, Deborahjay (talk) 21:44, 30 uMbasa 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Deborahjay, hello. Yes, I deleted those pages and as the deletion of them would flood recent changes, I marked my deletion logs as bot. Those pages were created by a LTA we have to deal with. Could you explain a bit more about how do you see 1,607 content pages? Matiia (talk) 22:03, 30 uMbasa 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Deborahjay, could you have been looking at a cached version of the page? If you still see an article count over 1,000 pages, try reloading the page holding the Shift key (Ctrl-Shift-R or hold Shift as you click on the reload icon in your browser). I am also seeing only 889 articles, as both you and Matiia have reported. - dcljr (talk) 00:53, 31 uMbasa 2018 (UTC)[reply]
@Dcljr:, now on 31 March at 11:27 my time (IDT; mid-morning in Europe), I performed both those shift-reloads as you suggested, but on the Main Page for the EN WP I still see ZU WP with 1,070 pages at the bottom of language projects with 1000+ content pages. (At least it successfully added the legitimate page I added since the original report (which perhaps was 1069 and I misremembered what I wrote above). Your attention is appreciated! -- Deborahjay (talk) 08:31, 31 uMbasa 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Update: @Dcljr: & @Matiia:, after restarting my laptop, at 19:09 my time I saw the correct number of pages for ZU WP (889) in the List of Wikipedias as accessed through the EN WP Main Page. It displays as No. 252, near the top of 100+ articles. I'll resume adding a bona fide page per day, towards my goal of hitting 1K pages by the opening of Wikimania 2018. Thank you both for the intervention and communications. -- Deborahjay (talk) 16:57, 31 uMbasa 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Oh, @Deborahjay: you mean m:List of Wikipedias (or, more specifically, m:List of Wikipedias/Table, which is transcluded into that other page). That table is periodically updated by a bot, so the counts there can be as much as 12 hours out of date (or more, if the bot isn't acting right). Anyway, the issue is settled now, so we can stop bothering Matiia. [grin] - dcljr (talk) 00:15, 1 uNdasa 2018 (UTC)[reply]
