English: Petrol station and general supply store in Zululand c1976. This photograph was taken in the region of Gingindlovu and Empangeni when the author was motoring along the N2. The petrol pump was hand-powered - the cash tills in the adjoining shop were powered by 12V car batteries.

The tanks behind the vehicle collect rainwater.
