This sandbox[Hlela umthombo]

Greetings, @KevRobbZU:, and congratulations on your new sandbox for Barraba, NSW in the ZU WP. This is an excellent word list for a geographic locale, and it provides ideas for improving geography stub articles. Are you a speaker of isiZulu or related languages? If you'd agree, adding Babel boxes to your User page would be a relevant addition for your fellow editors. You can get the Babel box syntax from mine in Hlela umthombo (Edit view). -- Cheers, Deborahjay (talk) 07:43, 11 uNhlaba 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Section headings in ZU WP[Hlela umthombo]

One of my editing activities in the ZU WP (and XH WP) is standardizing terms used on pages. So I made two changes to your sandbox vocabulary list based on a recent discussion with an active ZU WP editor who's a native speaker and handles such queries. See User talk:Njabulo19#Page section headings in isiZulu. Feel free to contact us on collaborative activity! Another helpful place to check existing vocabulary is in Wikidata to see how a page or category name is spelled in your target language, if it's already an item. This takes a bit of guesswork, but I do this quite often and find it often pays off. -- Deborahjay (talk) 07:48, 11 uNhlaba 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Barraba in AF WP as model[Hlela umthombo]

Perhaps you've already thought of this suggestion to streamline your article creation process in other languages:

  • Translate the af:Barraba article to English with all its content and format.
  • Create Barraba in the Simple English WP.
  • Use that as the model article to translate into other languages (e.g. ZU, XH...).

See my comment on the AF WP: af:Bespreking:Barraba#Well-written article. Be sure to link all your created pages to Barraba in Wikidata. -- Deborahjay (talk) 11:02, 11 uNhlaba 2018 (UTC)[reply]
